Glen Burney TrailThe trail head entrance is located in Annie Cannon Gardens off Laurel Lane. The trail is 1.6 miles long and drops 600 feet from an elevation of 3520 at the base of Glen Marie Falls. The creek that runs along the trail and over the falls is known as New Year’s Creek, which flows into John’s River- part of the Catawba River Basin. |
Memorial ParkOpen to the public 365 days a year. The park includes two tennis courts that are first come first served; two outdoor basketball courts, a picnic area, a playground, and various play elements. The Memorial Park Gazebo is used for many different events in the Town of Blowing Rock. It is used for ice carving at Winter Fest, Sunday afternoon concerts following Art in the Park, the 4th of July Festival, for Santa at our Christmas in the Park Festival, and looks beautiful when lit up in the Winter time. |
